Focus Fitness Main Line
Eliakim grew up in Chestnut Hill, went to Germantown Friends School and studied Marketing at Saint Joseph’s University. She remembers taking her first yoga class at age 13 with Jennifer Schelter in her studio The Yoga Schelter in East Falls. Ever since, she has had a love affair with yoga. Over the years her passion for the practice grew and she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training at Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas. After the training she continued to study under the many teachers in the Philadelphia area that inspired her so much. Since she began teaching, Eliakim’s appreciation and curiousity about mindful living and anatomy grew. The majority of the workshops and trainings she has participated in recently have been geared towards mindfulness, learning tools to live a full and abundant life, as well as learning how to find freedom in our bodies through proper alignment. She is forever grateful to Allison Sobel, who has been an amazing mentor and has welcomed Eliakim into the Focus Fitness family. Not only does Eliakim teach yoga there, she has also expanded her teachings to Barre. Eliakim believes that the Barre method is a truly effective way to strengthen the body and says it's a great compliment to yoga. This is an exciting year for Eliakim because she is one of the proud owners in the next Barre Focus Fitness studio. The studio is to open in downtown Philadelphia near the University of Pennsylvania, convenient for Eliakim as she lives downtown. In her free time, Eliakim enjoys taking as many classes a week as she can, eating amazing foods, spending time in Maine and taking workshops with inspiring people. Eliakim is thrilled to be part of the lululemon athletica community and is grateful to lululemon athletica for strengthening our communities. As a yoga teacher she hopes her passion and love for yoga shines through and that everyone leaves her classes feeling pretty darn good!
