In 2004, Malia Hill was dragged to a yoga class by a friend in Hawaii. She felt overworked, overweight, overstressed, and very disconnected from her body. Through yoga, she made changes to her life that she had always been afraid to make. She learned to deal with stress and challenge in healthier ways. Malia became a yoga instructor to help spread the benefits of yoga and living in the present moment to as many people as possible. She completed her Teacher Training program at The Yoga Company in San Ramon in 2009 and her OnBoard Sup certification in 2010. Malia’s yoga class is a playful flow, mixing vinyasa, power, and ashtanga styles. She teaches at The Yoga Company, ClubSport Pleasanton and San Ramon, The Studio in Danville, Just Be Yoga in Walnut Creek, and at Cal Berkeley for the women's swim team. She is the co-founder of SupAsana East Bay which runs BOGA Yoga Stand Up Paddleboard classes in Pleasanton, California. Malia has taught at The Wanderlust Festival in Oahu and Squaw Valley, and at Yoga Rocks The Park. She has had the honor of being a lululemon ambassador for three consecutive years and a BOGA Yoga ambassador for BOGA Paddleboards. Malia is the co-chair for Yoga Reaches Out Bay Area which raises funds for childrens' charities through yoga events. She is the proud wife of a firefighter, John, and the mother of a wonderful little girl, Kalea.
