Yoga is more than meets the eye. It is not merely the stretching, strengthening, shifting and shaping of the body. At its core, it is an invitation to fully become yourself.
My yoga journey began in 2005 with a desire to increase my flexibility and find some peace of mind. After a severe shoulder injury, yoga became a regular practice with transformational effects. Muscles began appearing where I didn't know they existed. After always being the guy who just couldn't touch his toes, I made the impossible possible. Through the physical challenge and precision of alignment, yoga became an addiction. My growth became measurable, literally. I grew 1-cm! However, my true breakthrough occurred with the realization that the poses are just a gateway to the natural essence of who I truly am.
In my classes, it is my intention to:
- Serve the needs of students of all levels,
- Offer clear verbal instruction for physical postures,
- Connect to the higher purposes for practicing yoga,
- Create a sense of community,
- Have fun,
- Provide fresh themes, new postures and creative sequences in every class,
- Remember students' names.
Yoga is a not a goal, but an invitation to a process of recognition. My classes are light-hearted, refined and unique. It is my goal to inspire, empower and encourage students to reach their potential and be their most authentic self.
Deep gratitude to my many teachers. Most notably: Chris Chavez, Christine Price Clark, and Andrea Spiegel. Through your greatness, the bar has been set on my own teaching. Most of all, thank you to my parents for being my teachers from Day 1. They have proven that you can start yoga at any age. You may even meet them in my class!
