Having worked in broadcasting for two years, Jessie turned to yoga to de-stress from the competitive industry. At first it was a way to calm her mind, then in turn, it helped ease her lower back pain which she was struggling with for many years. A switch in her career path then led her to work for lululemon athletica, a yoga-based apparel company. One of the perks of working for lululemon was complimentary fitness at affiliate studios. Jessie took advantage of this, and was practicing yoga about 4-5 times a week. Through this program, she built amazing relationships within the community and decided that since she loved yoga so much, why not teach it! Ever since Laura was a young girl dancing has been second nature to her, where there is music Laura will be dancing! She received training in several forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and Latin ballroom. A few years ago she attended a zumba class and completely fell in love with this form of exercise! It was a combination of her two passions, fitness and dancing. A competitive dancer since 1990, Lisa continues a career as singer/dancer/actor, and has starred in major productions such as Peter Pan, Anne of Green Gables (tm) Mama Mia!, Broadway's production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and CATS. Lisa discovered Yoga/Pilates when these practices healed her from a dance-related injury and inspired her to continue studying. Lisa recently returned from India where she attained her Yoga Instructors Certification at SVYASA Yoga University in Bangalore.
