Lina is an ultramarathon runner, kayaker, backcountry skier, snowshoe runner, triathlete, marathon mountain biker and adventure racer. She is an adventurer in all senses of the word. She climbs, explores, hikes and enjoys picnics. She is also an elite adventure racer racing with team Yogaslackers and has already travelled internationally and climbed onto the podium in many races in her first 2 years of adventure racing.

She grew up in Ottawa, Ont where she spent 11 years as a competitive gymnast. She moved on to Queen's where she completed her Bachelors in Physical and Health Education/Life Sciences.

Moving to British Columbia in 2003 to complete a Masters degree in Sport Psychology opened her eyes to the endless possibilities of the West Coast. She quickly fell in love with the mountains and the ocean. Living in Kitsilano, finishing her masters, coaching gymnastics and racing in triathlons proved to be a powerful and fabulous 2.5 years of her life.

Upon completion of her Masters degree a change of pace from city life to small town mountain life proved to be the perfect recipe for growth emotionally, physically and spiritually. In Whistler, Lina discovered how much she values the environment, community and the importance of following ones passion and dreams. It is within this year that she discovered her true passion for adventure, travel and the environment. She finally made a dream come true; being involved in the Olympics and moved to North Vancouver.

North Vancouver proves to be an amazing playground with mountains and ocean within minutes from her home. Here, she has gotten involved with the community by teaching skiing on local Mt. Seymour, guiding snowshoeing on Grouse and enjoying the cross country trails of Cypress and the amazing waters of Deep Cove.

Her new teamates have also taught her many new and beautiful skills. Most obviously yoga slacklining and acro yoga. In the words of the yogaslackers:
"The easy way to describe slacklining is to say that it is like tight-rope walking, and this is often the simplest way to make someone understand it. In truth it is quite different. Slackliners walk on a piece of 1" flat tubular webbing (the kind that rock climbers use) tensioned between two solid anchor points. The webbing is very dynamic, so it stretches a bit. Tight-ropes are much less dynamic, stiffer and a good bit wider. We at YogaSlackers have developed a style of yoga that can be practiced on the line. Although it is very difficult at first, the rewards are incredible! We truly believe that anyone can learn slacklining and begin to unlock their balance potential!"
From the acroyoga founders Jason and Jenny:
"AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a unique new practice that cultivates trust, connection and playfulness. Our highest aim is to bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realized, honored and shared for the benefit of all."

Lina is currently working for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Committee with the Anti-doping program and racing competitively with Team Yogaslackers.
