Chantal believes every day is better once you've taken time to unroll your mat and she brings her enthusiasm and love of yoga to every class she teaches.
"Yoga should be fun," she often says. "And everyone can and should do yoga --- not just bendy people."
So it's no surprise that she thinks Smile-asana is a very key pose --- something to practice on and off the mat.
With Shanti Yoga, a new studio she opened in Tsawwassen this April, she's excited to be bringing more downward dogs to the South Delta area.
She admits she's broken into a jig on a few occasions when she spotted locals walking down the street carrying yoga mats, en route to class.
Because no one ever regrets doing a few sun salutations right?
In addition to yoga and all things yoga-related, Chantal is interested in any activity that is fun and outdoors. Though she isn't what you'd call a natural athlete --- unless toe-stubbing counts as a sport --- she believes fitness and health is key to being happy, even if it means falling down a few times.
It's all part of learning right?
Of living. Really living.
You'll also frequently find Chantal clicking away at her computer. As a writer, her work has been published in newspapers across Canada on everything from yoga and wellness to rock n' roll and fashion.
Right now she's pecking away at a different type of yarn, doing the finishing touches on her first fiction novel. (It's a little bit chic lit and a little bit lit for chics! And it's almost finished.)
Since launching Shanti Yoga, she's also happily jumped into the blogosphere with shantiyogabc.blogspot.com, a hub for all things yoga-ish and life-ish, including her doga-doing doggy, Lola.
