For the past 10 years Monte Raymond has been an outstanding athlete on both the national and international stage...
In 1996 he won his first of three (1996, 2001, 2002) national championships in 400 metre hurdles. By the time Monte had graduated in 1999 with a Honours degree in Sports Management and Exercise Science he had established the second fastest time in University of Iowa history. Monte has also been a regular on the Canadian 1600 meter relay team resulting in the second fastest time for a Canadian relay team.
Off the track he is supported by his wife, Kelly, and his parents and sisters.
Despite his busy training schedule, Monte has found time to volunteer at Variety Village as Coordinator of Disabled-Able body Exercise programming. Monte has also been featured in CHUM-City TV commercial supporting a program called "Tutors for Kids".
Currently Monte works as a personal trainer with the goal of one day owning a sports gym or health club.
