Ramona Gellel

Ramona has a passion for life and lives by a philosophy that suggests “you only get out of life what you put in”. Yes Ramona is very competitive, having run 7 Boston Marathons posting a personal best 3:08:58 at last year’s event.

But what truly inspires everyone who knows Ramona is her willingness to be there for others - whether it’s coaching any one of the several running clinics she’s participated in for the Running Room and East Village Yoga, or raising thousands of dollars for the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada” through her participation with "Team In Training".

Ramona has also contributed many volunteer hours helping organize charity events, and raising funds for: "Relay for Life", “Habitat for Humanity”, “Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada” and the “Children's Emergency Foundation”.

Ramona earned a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and an Honors Teaching degree from the University of British Columbia. Ramona, believe it or not, actually has a full time job as a teacher of Physical Education and Health in the Durham School Board.

Three years ago Ramona discovered yoga which she practices regularly. She has completed the Marsha Wenig courses for teaching children yoga. In her free time (what free time?) Ramona enjoys playing tennis, cycling and reading.
