I was drawn to the beauty of movement at a young age. I discovered yoga as a physical therapy practice while dancing professionally, and it changed my life. As a modern dancer, I found the need to challenge my body and my strength in different ways, and Ashtanga yoga was perfect for me. I taught the Jazz Program at the Canadian Children’s Dance Theater for four years, and started a weekly Yoga workshop for the Dancers. It was then I explored yoga teaching options. After years of practicing Yoga, I completed the Downward Dog Yoga Teacher Training and while in the program, I was invited to teach Yoga classes at different Toronto studios. Andre Talbot

Andre completed the 200 RYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher training program at the Yandara Yoga Institute under the guidance of Craig Perkins and Allison Eaton. He is inspired by and continues to study yoga and the dharma with Shoken – Michael Stone, Poep Sa – Frank Jude Boccio and Laura Sygrove. Andre recently retired from a 10 year career as a professional football player in the Canadian Football League. During his football career he trained with some of the most elite athletes and strength & conditioning coaches in North America. He continues to be mentored by Matt Nichol and works with him to assist in the development of his esteemed athlete roster. Hana Lukac

Mula Yoga

Hana’s great passion for movement originates in the years of using her body at a physical capacity through classical ballet and theatre acting. Exploring different ways of movement, she discovered yoga and fell in love with it. After years of practicing a variety of different styles of yoga, she completed her teachers training program in vinyasa flow in Bali, Indonesia. Given her dance background, Hana loves the flow and puts great emphasis on precision and “hands on” adjustments. In her classes, prepare to smile a lot, work hard and sweat. Kate Gillespie

After years of competitive skiing, Kate found yoga in 2000 in an effort to heal her body. Over the years the practice began to infuse every aspect of her life. Kate is a graduate of the Frog Lotus International School of Vinyasa Yoga, as well as Toronto’s Downward Dog Ashtanga Yoga Centre. She credits the depth of her practice and love of yoga to her teachers; Ryan Leier, Meghan Currie, Christine Price Clark, Danielle Mika Nagel, Ron Reid, and JP Tamblyn. For years, Marek has been interested in health, fitness, nutrition, and adventure. His goal has been to help people navigate the endless resources available for these topics and filter through the noise. At the start of 2012, Marek created Active Yam: the opposite of a couch potato. The aim was to provide a resource for people interested in activities around the Toronto area, organizing meet ups, trainings, and outdoor activities. Marek’s passion is overcoming new challenges. His summers are filled with running various obstacle and cross country races while his winters are filled with skiing and travel. He believes that anyone can be fit and healthy.
