Kristi comes from a background of elite athletics representing Canada on the world stage as the second highest ranked Rhythmic Gymnast in the country. Her career as an Olympic level athlete taught her discipline, dedication and the skills required to live a life of high achievement and raising the bar of what is attainable with a whole lot of love and practice. Kristi has over 25 years of experience of studying the movement of the human body into her teaching as a tool for discovering a greater connection to ourselves. Kristi inspires her students to go beyond working to achieve great acts of physical strength and flexibility, instead with immense courage and love to dive into a greater personal awareness so with truth and humility we all start to live a life that is authentically us, and proudly share that with our communities both big and small.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada Kristi grew up traveling the globe competing on the world stage as a Rhythmic Gymnast. She became a well know figure in athletics in Canada not only as an athlete but as the flexibility coach to the Canadian National Synchronized Swimming team. Kristi went on to live and study in New York City and gaining a degree in the Performing Arts. Through out her life she had been drawn to expressing herself through physical movement and study of the human body. Whether it was running marathons, training with the National Ballet of Canada or performing as a contortionist, Kristi always complemented her passions with a love for Yoga. Kristi first began her practice in 1999 and it since has involved through various styles and study under master teachers from around the world. In 2008 Kristi, became a certified Power Vinyasa yoga teacher under master teacher Baron Baptiste. From 2008 to 2011, Kristi was mentored under Baron Baptiste as the Baptiste Global Community Ambassador. Through Kristi’s experience of working and teaching with the Baptiste community she aquired a wealth of experience and knowledge in what it takes to create powerful and inspiring teachers. Kristi now shares her passion for the Yoga practice and teaching teacher as the Programs Manager and Senior Facilitator for Power Living Yoga Australia. Kristi has truly found her home at P.L.A.Y. in a community that not only inspires her to be her greatest self but also continues to teach and inspire her through the P.L.A.Y. teachings and methodologies. Kristi is passionate about continuing her own personal evolution and that is what she aims to share with her students. The practice is not about achieving external success, looking like a Yogi or what you know but having the awareness of oneself to share authentically and not wait for tomorrow to live the life you want to live. With humility and joy Kristi invites her students to join in the practice of getting real together as it’s a journey that never ends it’s a continuous practice of loving every moment and enjoying it to its fullest.
