Anne began practicing yoga to complement decades of running. After an extended period of focusing solely on the physical challenges of the asana practice, the finer, more subtle benefits of yoga began to reveal themselves. Anne’s view of yoga transformed from a means to become physically stronger and more flexible to a way of living a fuller, richer life with greater internal and external strength, peace and joy. She is a YA 200 hour RYT, trained in children’s and teen yoga, and has completed her advanced training with Kula Yoga Project, NYC. Her classes blend alignment and breath work with purposeful sequencing and fabulous music to help you get your yoga groove on! I used to think that the only way to get fit was to do a chest workout on Monday followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill, back on Tuesday followed by 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, biceps on Wednesday, etc., etc., etc. I was fairly athletic when I was younger being involved with soccer and swimming in high school and boxing in college, and my dad continues to run at least 3 marathons per year (as he has since before I was born) so I thought I knew what it took to be in shape; but, to quote royalty, “my life got flipped - turned upside down” after my first CrossFit WOD in April 2009. Gina has taught a variety of group fitness classes, including kickboxing, resistance training and of course, indoor cycling, since 1999. Because indoor cycling classes have always been her favorite to teach, she decided to join Flywheel and make it her main focus. Gina mixes her interval training background with Flywheel’s indoor cycling techniques to bring her students a class that can’t be missed. Because of her love of music, each playlist is fresh and perfectly synced to the climbs and sprints of her rides. Gina strives to motivate and challenge all her riders to give their all to get in the best shape possible.
