She is a certified Pre-natal Yoga through Mary Barnes and has completed a year long anatomy training under Leslie Kaminoff. In 2014, She finished Elena Brower’s first ever Advanced Teacher Training. Jessica started her yoga career in Seattle where she was heavily influenced by the athletic practice of Baptiste and Ashtanga yoga. In 2008 She received her 200 Hr Yoga Alliance training in Costa Rica and completed Level 1 and Level 2 trainings with Baron Baptiste. 2013 marked the year she moved to NYC and a new era of her teaching and practice of yoga asana and pranayama. The new era of training and understanding continues at Katonah Yoga in Chelsea.
Yoga postures can inform the mind profoundly, she believes physicality can change neurology. She teaches a challenging, fun, and informative sequence of postures. The information from the practice is meant to spin in to the practitioner in order to transform. When ever we are transformed, the outward expression of self always evolves, an information for reformation for transformative, until it becomes such an embodied and regular practice. Repetition brings insight, just as trying new things brings insight!
