Logan Gelbrich was born just up the street from our store at Saint John's December 1, 1985. Growing up locally, he graduated from Saint Monica Catholic High School as the Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2004. After All-State performances in baseball at St. Monica, Logan turned to the University of San Diego. As catcher for the Toreros, he earned two West Coast Conference championships and is a two time All-Conference player. In 2008, Logan was a nominee for the Johnny Bench Award, which goes to the nation's best amateur backstop. Later that year, the San Diego Padres selected Logan in the Major League Baseball draft.
After two seasons,in the Padres organization, Logan turned inward. His focus became human performance: intellectual, physical, and spiritual. Digesting literature, writing, and painting at a vigorous clip, Logan created the early foundation for what is now his two start up businesses. Logan founded Functional Fitness on the Bluffs, which has gathered a passionate following of students enrolled in a "school of fitness" here in Santa Monica. In addition, Logan started an international sports nutrition brand, ORIGINAL Nutritionals, that focuses on supporting clean athletic performance with nutrition and Omega 3.
Logan currently resides in Venice with his girlfriend Dr. Lindsey Mathews, creator of BirthFIT.
