E. Bonnie Lewis believes there is a creative spirit inherent in all of us and part of our life’s journey is to find and express that spirit.
Be it teaching yoga, Pilates, theatre or modern dance, Bonnie brings her creativity, sense of humor and passion for movement and expression to all that she does. “My greatest challenge and greatest joy as a theatre artist, dancer/choreographer and arts educator involves guiding people in their process of moving their bodies and creating their art.”
E. Bonnie’s first encounter with yoga was at the Integral Yoga Institute in the early 70’s while she was studying Modern Dance and earning her BS degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from UC Davis. She went on to earn her BA in Physical Education with a Dance Emphasis from California State University at Los Angeles and received her MA at University of California Los Angeles in Dance Movement Therapy. She has taught theatre, dance & movement, and yoga to pre-school students up to seniors and has gained insight from all the ages that have crossed her path.
E. Bonnie has been an active part of the theatre arts, dance, and physical education community of Santa Barbara for over 16 years working in both the public and private sectors. At Santa Barbara City College, she is currently teaching yoga and Pilates classes and incorporating yoga into the athletic training of the men and women’s soccer teams and women’s softball team. Fall of 2009 Bonnie will be teaching Modern Dance and Dance Improvisation.
With her creative juices ever flowing E. Bonnie will continue to perform, direct, choreograph and develop theatre and dance works that express ever more deeply, the nuances of the human experience.
