Yoga @ Cindy's & Just Breathe

I discovered yoga in 2008 through a friend that convinced me to try it for a month. I was very hesitant, but agreed to give it a try with an open mind. So there I was at my first class at Yoga @ Cindy's: an out-of-shape office worker with unhealthy eating habits, scared to embarrass himself attempting yoga.

But I went anyways, with my borrowed yoga mat and non-stretchy clothes. And I tried, despite how confused and self conscious I felt. I remember waking up the morning after and being sore in places I didn't even know could be sore! I couldn't believe it. So I thought to myself, "let's see how far this takes me after a month." By the time my introductory month was up, I was hooked.

Yoga just clicked for me. There was something about the way I felt every time I stepped off of my mat after class. It was this sense of energetic tranquility that I had never experienced before, and so I continued down the path that yoga was leading me.

I completed my teacher training at Yoga @ Cindy's in June of 2009, right where I started my practice. Some might look at my adventure and think I've come a long way. I look at it and happily still can't see the end. So I smile and keep going.
