Ultra Fit, The Body Lab AZ
With a native Hawaiian and Korean heritage Adam traveled the Pacific Rim as a child in a military family. Finally settling in southern Arizona he completed his undergraduate studies in Tucson before relocating to the Phoenix area to complete his MBA. He worked in several industries including education and pharmaceuticals. Adam now spends his time as a lifestyle motivator. Health and wellness is his tool to help people accomplish individualized goals. Physically, mentally and emotionally, Adam wants every person he meets to bring their world into perspective on their own terms.
Adam has always been athletically inclined. He varsity lettered in various sports in high school, joined ROTC in college, and participates in recreational sports leagues. He spends his summers scuba diving and backpacking, and winters alpine skiing. Over the years Adam has supported these activities by training. He's studied everything from plyometrics and power lifting to cardiovascular conditioning and bodybuilding. The obsessive "gym rat" has a hard time sitting still.
Educating is Adam's strongest characteristic. He loves speaking in public, from coaching sports to presenting to students on career days, and taught his first physical training class at the age of 15. After years of constant activity Adam hit a plateau…BOREDOM! Big-box gyms and monotonous large-group classes with fixed programs no longer presented a challenge. A friend suggested combing his talent for teaching with his passion for exercise to become a full-time fitness instructor. Advanced exercise sciences found him through his avid fascination with health and wellness. It proved to be the solution to droning training regiments. Now Adam is NEVER BORED splitting his time as Lead Instructor at The Body Lab and partner at UltraFit Systems.
Living an active lifestyle and maintaining good nutrition (never "dieting") gives Adam constant energy and drive to accomplish goals. He promotes that adopting these attitudes will benefit all aspects of a person's existence. He advocates that the first important step is getting started now.
"I am a heretic, a fool that stands out in the status quo. I am a person intentionally trying to upset certain groups of individuals in an effort to change what is into something else, something powerful and fun. Health and Wellness is my passion, my addiction, I don't feel right without it. But that's just me and it's not my goal to push people to my level of compulsion, just to share some of my enthusiasm and hope that others will benefit. It doesn't matter who you are or your level of fitness. We will find your path to your goals at your pace. What else could you ask for? You will get more than you expected. Just show up, do it, and get on with your life. If you're making excuses then you don't want it bad enough and no program can help you achieve your goals. Nothing worthwhile is easy."
