Collin Sam is a group fitness instructor and personal trainer certified with ACE and AFAA and has nearly 20 years of experience. Collin is one of the few instructors who has a full-time Corporate position and manages to balance 8 classes a week between Equinox Pasadena and Crunch. His specialty classes include: Step, Cycling, Iron Body-Kettlebell, Gravity and Hardbody Meltdown classes. His enthusiasm, boundless energy and comical real-life moments motivate and move large classes.

Collin’s motto in life is to continue moving forward in mind and body, which includes building from one’s experiences and maintain a physically fit body in order to work on the challenges that life brings.

When Collin began teaching, he was working over 3,000+ hours per year for one of the world’s largest public accounting firms. Back then as a recent college grad, Collin always thought there was more to life than eating fast food, working until 1 or 2am every night and not having much of a social life…or the fact that the suits he bought then were not fitting properly due to a horrible diet and lack of exercise that he once had while in college. The mere fact that he couldn’t fit into his corporate suits was the impetus to start back into fitness! By taking a few step classes back then, Collin realized that he could teach effective classes with the musicality of the music…must be that numbers thing!

Collin enjoys inspiring members of all ages. His coaching abilities are to always have members to reach deep within to take that last rep or to push just a little bit further than the prior week. His members can relate to the daily corporate life and the manner in which he tells his classes the “stories” of the week oftentimes takes their minds off of the task at hand. At the end of an hour long class, a member finds that not only did he/she work through an all over body workout, but that they were laughing at the Dilbert-esque stories that he tells. Leading classes with complex choreography is completely opposite to what Collin does for his day job, but the fitness experience enables him to speak to large groups on accounting and financial systems issues.
