Power Yoga Palm Springs
Johnny’s journey is truly a path of the heart. Practicing yoga and meditation for over 15 years has lead Johnny to his two current roles as both an Emergency Room Registered Nurse and Certified Bhakti Yoga instructor. While vacationing in Southern California in 2004 he can remember feeling a powerful familiarity with his surrounds and a sense that he was home. From that day, he manifested everything that was to unfold with an open heart. Years of holding out for a yoga teacher training program that spoke to Johnny had finally presented itself by a random invitation of a now beautiful friend. The Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, California was an opportunity to dial into the true meaning of yoga “to become one with”, and move far beyond the Asana. The Bhakti path leaves the door open for the practitioner to move through Vinyasa with freedom of expression while maintaing safety and alignment. Through this daily practice we use the human form as vehicle to greet your true self and empower the heart, in the ever changing and creative path of life. From childhood Johnny has been surrounded by creativity in music, art, dance, food, fitness, nature and a love for embracing life and draws on these gifts to build his classes. His practice will encourage you to celebrate what it means to be human in what his students call, “The Experience”. In keeping with Bhakti(devotional) tradition Johnny offers his classes on a donation basis with proceeds benefiting local and national organization. He looks forward to his first pilgrimage to India in the spring of 2013 for a World Yoga Alliance Certification with an Ashram in Rishikesh.
