Miki Carey, Ambassador Alumni

Gardens CrossFit

As a kid, Miki tagged along with her mom to see her trainer, he fascinated her. Any chance she got to join her at the gym she did! That man was the one to really inspire her and created the drive she has to inspire others. She has been in gyms and homes for almost 10 years now, whipping people in to shape, physically and mentally. There is no doubt that they go hand-in-hand. Stress relief, health, fitness, beauty and most importantly-COMMUNITY! Engaging clients to become more involved is her belief, knowing everything you can do to lead a fulfilling life.
Her own fulfillment came from the fitness community of CrossFit and Kettlebells. She had been a personal trainer for almost 5 years when she found the two and fell in love! Everyone jokes that if a Kettlebell was alive, it'd be her boyfriend! :)
Once finding real happiness in her career she knew that is where she belongs and wanted to share it with everyone!

Miki has the following certifications:
ACE Personal Trainer
AKC Kettlebell Coach
CrossFit Kettlebell Coach
Tactical Athlete Kettlebell Trainer
CrossFit Level 1Coach
CrossFit Gymnastics Trainer
CrossFit Powerlifting Coach
CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Coach
USAW Olympic Weightlifting Club Coach
CrossFit POSE Method Coach
Powerhouse Pilates Mat & Reformer Trainer

There is one Olympic Weightlifting movement called the Snatch. This movement demonstrates power, speed, strength and balance, moving from the ground to overhead in one motion. Her ultimate goal is to perform this with body weight! From the moment she saw this movement she knew it would be her "Mt Everest"!

Giving credit when it's due is a trait she possesses. Miki is always thankful to those she learned from, studied under and watched. These folks helped her become the trainer she is today.

One of her favorite quotes comes from the lululemon manifesto: Do one thing a day that scares you. She thinks of this every single day she steps foot into the gym. Whether it's teaching a new client, learning a new exercise, making another exercise harder, or just overcoming the everyday business stress, there's something that can be scary. You just have to step up to the plate and do it. Face it, learn from it and be happy with your choices.
