Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative yoga practice done almost exclusively while seated on the floor. The practice focuses on the deep connective tissue and fascia of the body, which only begins to release and open when the posture is held for a longer period of time (3-7 minutes). The experience of yin is deeply grounding and peaceful. It is a practice of effortlessness and acceptance, a meditation of body and mind.
