Alumni Ambassador Amber Stratton
SOMA Health and Fitness
Amber started on her yogic path early, as a young girl growing up in a spiritual home. But she would feel there was a missing piece for many years, as she first pursued a variety of other forms of body movement.
Her journey began with eight years of ballet training. Kickboxing, running, and weight training would all become regular pursuits, along with snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer.
Amber eventually sought out yoga to stretch out her overworked muscles, but soon began to discover an understanding of balance she had long been searching for. She began to realize her yoga practice was influencing almost every other part of her life. A magical byproduct of those muscle-stretching sessions was a calmer mind, a healthier body and an open heart. Yoga had helped her to develop a larger purpose and a deeper meaning in her life, and she was hooked.
Before long she was eager to spread this message to others. Amber began studying to become a yoga teacher in Septempter 2006 at the Upward Dog Yoga Centre, under the guidance of Yogi Vishvketu and Chetana Panwar. She
currently teaches at Soma Health & Fitness.
