Being theyoungest of 3 brothers, Michael came by running honestly. Whether it was for pure survival or to get to the dinner table, Mike had to run. Now after 100 + races including 10 marathons and 2 Ironman, Mike now runs for fitness and excitement.
Mike started running in 2002 with the Frosty 5k in Burlington, Ontario. With a what's next attitude, Mike went on to run a half-marathon, a full marathon and an ultra-marathon as his next 3 races. Wanting to pass his love of running on to as many people as possible, Mike started coaching at a local running store in 2005 and went on to coach hundreds of people over the next 5 years. Keep fit and go fast became Mike's favorite saying, always telling people that fast is a relative term. Lions or gazelles when the sun comes up you'd better be running. In 2010 Mike stopped coaching to pursue his own training, but after suffering the loss of his Mother in September of 2011, Mike has started to coach once again. He's always had a dream to save someone's life and now he is doing it, one runner at a time.
