Born and raised outside of NYC, Kara spent her early years competing in dance competitions up and down the East Coast. Her love and passion for dance led her to the University of Texas where she pursued a BFA in Dance. Upon graduation, she danced professionally across Latin America, Canada and throughout the US before finally settling down in Manhattan in 2008. It wasn’t long before Kara stumbled upon Lululemon Union Square that she joined the team an Educator. As any Lululemon Educator would do in NYC, she took advantage of the countless fitness classes in the neighborhood – from dance, to yoga to Aerospace – she found herself craving an intense workout and sweat. In 2010, Kara obtained a 200-Hr vinyasa yoga certification, studying closely with Isaac Pena. She taught briefly at the Sankalpah studio before being introduced to FlyBarre at Flywheel Sports. She took her first class, and not only had she found a new favorite workout, she was asked to teach on the spot. In a short amount of time, Kara transitioned to be a full-time Flybarre Instructor at Flywheel Sports. In less than a year, she became a Master Instructor and Director of Training for the program. She is now responsible for recruiting and training all FlyBarre instructors across the country. With her background in professional dance and yoga, Kara’s music-driven classes are an inspiring blend of precision and athleticism. When she’s not at the barre, Kara enjoys fitness modeling, spinning, taking yoga, exploring local coffee shops, eating Mexican food, walking the Brooklyn Bridge and taking advantage of NYC’s theater scene.
