Romney Pilates

Erin Romney graduated from The University of Utah in 2002 with B.S. Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Marine Biology and Chemistry. While there, she swam competitively with their swim team. It was then she discovered Pilates & Gyrotonic and their wonderful practice. She started her training under PhysicalMind Institute based out of New York and San Francisco Gyrotonic. Having worked for a physical therapy practice for many years, her speciality was working with injuries and athletes. After making New Orleans her home she opened Romney Pilates Center in 2005, wanting to create a unique space for people to practice. Over the last decade, New Orleans native Geoffrey Roniger has become well known in the San Francisco Bay Area for his unique approach to yoga that emphasizes sound biomechanical alignment principles, intuitive movement, and eloquent use of metaphor to translate this ancient tradition into our contemporary cultural vernacular. In a yoga world filled with faux spirituality and frenetic pose choreography, his teaching stands out for its characteristic clarity, sincerity, and gourmet quality sequencing. Kristin Depp is the middle school cross country and track coach at Louise S. McGehee School and the founder of Run, Chicks, Run and JUMPSTART XC camp. She is a member of the USATF and LTFCA. As a “late-in-life” runner, Kristin brings enthusiasm and a sincere love for the sport to Southern Runner. Krystall started her journey to a healthy lifestyle only five years ago, when a good friend introduced her, by complete happenstance, to “hot yoga.” At the time, Krystall was unknowingly 40 lbs. overweight and terribly unhappy in her life. She had no idea how that one simple decision to go to the hot yoga class would end up forever changing her body, mind, career, and potentially the New Orleans health and wellness community. Although she doesn’t seem to remember much from the first few classes, she knew she had to keep going back. After a year of practice, she decided to quit her corporate 9-5 job and become a Bikram Yoga teacher. Lauren Darnell

A Crescent City native, Lauren Darnell was drawn to yoga in search of a cure for chronic hip pain caused by an unfortunate car accident. In addition to a cure for her hip pain, she experienced the positive rapid body transformation brought about by power yoga. Immediately drawn into the practice, Lauren assisted and trained with several Master teachers including world-renowned instructor Baron Baptiste. Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge to YogaPowerPlay, Park Yo Mat, and the Reyn Studios team drawing on her yoga experience from around the world, including Hot Power Yoga London and Yoga for the People in New York. Reyn Lambert

A NOLA resident from birth and classically trained dancer, Reyn Lambert was introduced to yoga through her lifelong study of ballet. Her passion for ballet brought her to The New School University in New York City, where yoga and Pilates became a staple of most of the dancers at the school for focus, strength, flexibility, and stability. These characteristics of yoga instantaneously became extremely appealing to Reyn and have continued to form the foundation of her yoga and Pilates practice for 7 years.
