Mary Kaye is a children/teen yoga teacher, motivational speaker and mother of three who fills her classes with laughter and compassion. She is the author of I Love Yoga, Breathe: Yoga for Teens and a Yoga for Teens card deck. Her popular speaking engagements at middle and high schools focus on the Power of Positive Talk which she has been promoting for years and ties in with her teachings of the yoga tenets. With features on NECN, The Teen Show, Martha Stewart Live radio, Mom Talk Radio and others, she brings great energy and healthy messages to students teaching them how to respond to stress and eliminate negative thinking.
Mary Kaye graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in human development. She studied ashtanga, kundalini, hatha, iyengar and anusara yoga and completed several levels of teacher training through the Radiant Child Yoga Program. She has spent over 15 years teaching and coaching children in various sport and yoga programs. She has studied with Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, Jill Miller, Seane Corn, Bryan Kest, Denise Rumbaugh, Baron Baptiste, Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Leslie Kaminoff, Rolfe Gates and more. Mary Kaye teaches at Buddhaful Kids Yoga, Laughing Dog Yoga, The Harbor School, The Epiphany School in Boston’s inner city, Kid’s Time Programs, The Walker School, Bigelow, Beacon High School and other private and public schools. Mary Kaye grew up in Virginia and often shares her hilarious childhood stories in her classes. She currently lives in Wellesley with her husband, three yogi kids and crazy dog. On her days off, you can find her on any lacrosse field or the dance floor. Her favorite snack is a big juicy peach. What nobody knows (or believes) about Mary Kaye is that she used to be painfully shy. When Mary Kaye grows up, she wants to be a Country Music singer.
