“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi ~
These simple yet powerful and profound words are much easier to hang on a wall or read on a coffee mug than to enact on a daily basis or on a moment to moment basis. Unless we change ourselves and help people around us change, nobody will change because everybody will be waiting for the other person to change.
I am a private fitness consultant. I help people change their mind, body and spirit through physical and mental conditioning. When someone commits to improving their body/mind/spirit through fitness, their energy shifts towards creating positive change within themselves which in turn, affects everyone in their world. I believe we all have an inner athlete just waiting to shine. I train all of my clients like they are an elite athlete. As we become adults we forget our capacity to “play” and play hard. I consider workouts with clients “playtime”. We run, jump, push, pull, twist, punch, kick, balance, sweat, grunt, sometimes swear, and always laugh and smile…A LOT. Each workout is efficient and we are always moving the body in every direction possible. I love the creative process of developing programs that include functional training, integrative performance training, Mixed Martial Arts training, Yoga, Pilates and outdoor boot camps. The tools we use are the human body, TRXs, resistance bands, dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, BOSU and physioballs, jump boxes, ropes, vibration Power Plate and good ol’ gravity. Each workout is challenging and different so the body and mind are always engaged. I provide a positive and intense environment where people achieve things with their bodies their minds never thought possible. We eliminate the mental barriers we’ve all placed on ourselves by taking action and celebrating achievement. My clients love the way they feel and the way they look. As they should! What better way to spend an hour a day than improving your inner and outer you!
I was a football and baseball player in college. I survived a terminal disease called Aplastic Anemia and have been in remission for 20 years. I worked as an Associate Athletic Director for a Division I university for 5 years. Later I traveled the world doing diversity management training for IBM and the US Postal Service. Most recently, I followed through on my dream of owning a private training studio in Los Angeles and hope to open one here in Nashville. I’ve only been in Nashville for a year and change but have been embraced by this community like no other place I’ve ever lived. I was taught not to get too personal with clients but learned very early that is a crock of poo. How else can one truly connect with another to facilitate change without a personal relationship – that’s loco! I am fortunate to have a diverse clientele of business professionals, entertainment professionals, moms, dads, student athletes, , weekend warriors, and other fitness professionals whom I love dearly. My clients in L.A. and here in Nashville are some of my closest friends. Without their support and their successes, I would not be as good or as passionate about what I get to do each day.
Are you ready to be the change you wish to see in your world?
