Sensei Donato grew up training and competing in different styles of traditional and modern Martial Arts. After moving to Miami, needing a break from competition and injury-prone training, he discovered how the integration of Martial Arts with Yoga and Meditation through the art of Budokon could elevate his practice, mind and spirit. After becoming a Budokon instructor, he has focused in teaching why awareness is key to a better yogic or martial arts practice and how it is also essential to an abundant and happy living practice.


Sensei Donato is one of the top Instructors in the Budokon system, holding the highest ranking available to day: Blue Belt. He teaches regularly in Miami Beach at The Standard on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm and travels with the Budokon Academy, assisting Kancho Cameron Shayne- the creator of Budokon- in teacher trainings, retreats and workshops.

What brings you the most joy in your life: Sharing and being able to help people doing what I love.

What brought you to your practice: My search for balance and my desire to combine my passion for yoga and martial arts.

What is your favorite thing about teaching: That I get the chance to create positive change. Teachers get the unconditional attention of our students for one hour or so a couple of times a week. This is a great time to help people and educate them about different paths to better, healthier lives.

What is your personal philosophy on life: If the problem has a solution, there is no need to worry. If the problem does not have a solution, then there is no use in worrying.

Favorite quote from the lululemon manifesto: "Choose a positive thought"... everything starts with the way that you think. Your reality is being created in every moment by your thoughts and only by your thoughts so the choice is always yours. The key to changing the world is in first changing your thoughts!
