Melissa studied Exercise Science and Health Promotion at the University of Kentucky and is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). In addition, Melissa is STOTT Pilates Mat certified, trained on Reformer and ISP (Injuries and Special Populations). Melissa is also CPR certified.
Her unique approach is guided by her variety of experiences in teaching and coaching. She has taught a multitude of group fitness classes and coached diverse groups of athletes. Although a one-on-one experience is more personalized, she has started FitCamp as a way to change more lives. Melissa infuses many of the Pilates principles of core strength, centering, rebalancing, and stabilizing into her routines. Even when working in groups Melissa has a way of maintaining that personal touch by adapting to each individual's needs.
