I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for thirty years, I am the mother of two grown men, who are the lights of my life and the warmth in my soul.
I obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo.
I was a member of Team Canada for the Age Group World Championships in Honolulu Hawaii in Oct. 2005, Long Distance World Championships in Canberra Australia in Nov. 2006 and World Championships in Vancouver BC in June 2008.
I am a two time finisher of Ironman Canada in Penticton, B.C., and am excited to be training for my third Ironman this year and joining the many who will be competing in the first Ironman Canada held in Whistler on August 25, 2013.
I crossed off one of my bucket list items by finishing the Boston Marathon in April 2010.
I had a blast coaching the Kelowna Lululemon Athletica run club members for the first ever SeaWheeze in August 2012, and was proud to say we had 100% completion rate for the event.
I have completed over ten marathons, many half marathons and other distance races, enjoy the beauty and serenity of running in the trails and pathways with family and friends. My favourite runs are those surrounded by brilliant sun, water, and sand, in freshly fallen autumn leaves when summer changes to fall, and making the first tracks in a fresh winter snowfall while big snowflakes get caught in my eyelashes.
I take great joy in sharing my love of running and triathlon with those just beginning their journeys, and wanting to face new challenges.
I have discovered an immense pleasure in my yoga practice, finding a sense of peace and surrender while I am in the hot room and enjoying the feeling of a strong and vibrant sangha. I am able to challenge the bounds of my tight muscles and enjoy the sense of release that comes upon me.
When winter hits, although I would much prefer to be basking in the warm summer Okanagan sun, I enjoy skate skiing with my husband and my friends in the tranquil trails of the Okanagan.
