Ben Schloegel

He quit an unhealthy lifestyle 14 years ago, and for the first time in his life he accepted that simply being good enough was just not good enough for him. He quickly found the sport of triathlon to be my passion. He went from never swimming, biking and running, to earning his professional license as an Ironman Triathlete and has completed nearly every national and world championship.

He thought, "not bad for a guy who couldn’t swim across the pool 10 years ago or never ran more than a 5k." He was able to accomplish his goals because he was fearless and put everything he had into his sport.

Ben is a USAT Level I certified coach. He has finished in the top 10 overall in ½ of the ironman races he has completed, winning the overall age group title on three occasions and have been an All-American every year. Ben has been serving the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department for the last 8 years and completely understands the demands of working hard to serve the community for a living.

Sport is great, but only when balanced with life, family, friends, professional growth, and most importantly - service to others. Without balance, nothing is sustainable nor is it worthwhile. I believe in accountability and ownership of the athletes who participate in what we do.
