While growing up and spending 23 years in Colorado and earning his degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado, Jeff developed an interest in athletics and kinesiology, which ignited a passion for fitness. In 2006, just days after graduating college, Jeff moved to Jacksonville with nothing but a laptop computer his Dad had given to him as a college graduation gift and a duffle bag full of clothes for what was expected to be a six-month internship with the Jacksonville Jaguars Strength and Conditioning Program. That six-month internship turned into a rewarding three-year experience.
For the past 9 years, Jeff has worked with clients of all ages and physical abilities and is well-known for his challenging workouts, which are specifically tailored to the goals of each person that he trains. Jeff realizes the importance of exercises that build an essential foundation of fitness for improved function and optimal performance including: balance, core strength, flexibility, joint mobility, injury resistance and overall health and well being. Jeff's philosophy on life and fitness is one in which he models his own life by, that "the human body was created for movement; if you are not moving, you are not living and if you are not living you are dying." Within moments of meeting Jeff and discussing fitness, his passion and excitement for the subject becomes quite obvious. "Exercise changes people's lives, better yet it saves lives. I've seen it happen - what's not to be excited about!? My purpose is to show people that anybody can exercise and that everyone should. Our lives depend on it. The benefits are too awesome and too powerful to keep to myself. Fitness has changed my life and I just want to share the experience with the whole world."
Jeff holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer credentials from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a certified TRX instructor. Jeff is currently pursuing the Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification from USA Weightlifting and has plans to earn his Master's degree in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Human Performance by 2016. He is also a registered Amateur Boxer with the USA boxing commission and has aspirations of eventually going professional. Jeff enjoys boxing, weightlifting, running, snowboarding, surfing, playing golf, healthy cooking, reading, and watching sports. Jeff and his wife, Caroline, and their pet Dingo, Jasper reside in Jacksonville and are the owners and operators of The Cross-Training Company, a private physical fitness training facility founded in 2012.
