Amparo created Yoga Urbana in 1999. Yoga Urbana is a particular style of yoga that has it’s roots in Interdisciplinary Yoga, and blends conditioning movements, Pilates technique, Mindfulness and Self-Awakening Yoga in a vinyasa flowing way. This particular blend has the intention of guiding the practitioner through a journey towards personal knowledge and discovery of the individual’s own Internal Wisdom. As an added benefit, you can learn how life has the capacity to flow without effort, while at the same time you can manifest your true self.
A Yoga Urbana class usually begins with an awareness of sensations scan, followed by a centering and warm-up experience. Pranayama is an integral part of Yoga Urbana, placing emphasis on breathing and the quality of sensations, instead of the quantity or complexity of asanas. Classes can be taught either in the English or Spanish languages.
As an international instructor, Amparo embraced the opportunity to teach Yoga Urbana in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, USA, Switzerland and Japan. She recently moved from Puerto Rico to The Woodlands area.
