What started out as a hobby in 2007 soon turned into a not so conventional full time career. After working a variety of jobs from insurance, to journalism to teaching, Tessa decided to take a chance and choose to do something she loved and had passion for. Since then she has never looked back.
Born in Canada and raised in Hong Kong, Pole Dance was something that she had never even considered trying until reading an article in a magazine. It took some time to get the courage to attend her first class but after just one hour she was hooked.
Since deciding to focus on Pole Dance as a career, Tessa has taken home the title of top pole dancer in Hong Kong for the last two consecutive years. She has also earned Best Choreography (2010) and Pole Fit Champion (2011) – a category in which she competed against men.
Tessa is known for her powerful and energetic pole work. Her classes focus on conditioning the body to prepare for more advanced moves and also to improve over all fitness. One of the number one things she loves about pole dance is the increase in confidence it brings to the women who come to her classes.
Tessa enjoys the sensuality and freedom that comes with pole dance but also much more than that. Pole dancing can be anything you want – strong, sexy, and powerful and she hopes to continue experimenting with different styles of pole dance.
As well as pole dance, Tessa has also represented Hong Kong in field hockey – most recently at the 2009 East Asian Games. She also enjoys dancing until the sun comes up, learning acrobatics and having fun with her friends at the beach.
She is currently looking forward to representing Hong Kong at the International Pole Championship in 2011.
