The Yoga Room
Tamika is a fan of all things graceful, empowering and transformational–yoga, dance, music and circus to name a few. When she’s not on the mat practicing you can find her exploring the nooks, crannies and hills of HK, enjoying a night swim in the South China Sea, or researching Yoga stuff (yes, she’s a self confessed Yoga addict!)
Originally from Australia, Tamika has been teaching for 8 years, including assisting Yoga Teacher Trainings. She is trained in Hatha Vinyasa 500hr with Louisa Sear, Prenatal Yoga & Conscious Birthing with Janice Clarfield, and Forrest Yoga with Ana Forrest. Her main influences are the Ashtanga and Iyengar systems, and her teachings and understanding of the physical and energetic bodies are further enriched by studies in STOTT Pilates, Shiatsu and Yin Yoga.
Tamika's core practice is Vinyasa—a flowing, powerful and ultimately centering approach to Yoga. Her classes involve precision in alignment and technique to keep students safe and strong, while exploring and challenging body-breath-mind limitations to keep them flexible and inspired. Tamika’s other great passion is teaching Pregnant Yoginis (she’s currently one herself!) and new Mums to confidently move, breathe, stretch and sound through pregnancy and postpartum.
Tamika loves to share her passion for yoga. Working with breath and focus, she gives her students the attention and direction they need to progress in their practice.
