Taylor was born and raised in Halifax, finding his love and passion for hockey from a very young age. Through the years hockey took Taylor to some places he wouldn't trade for the world, including Boston and Massachusetts, where he earned a scholarship to Brooks School, graduating with honours in pursuit of playing American College Hockey. He went on to play Junior hockey in Ontario the following year but felt his passion for hockey dwindling, and his passion for adventure growing. After saying a final goodbye to hockey and following an unknown path on a drive across our beautiful country, he returned home and was introduced to yoga by his mom, who had recently began her journey into teaching yoga just one year prior. At first he fell in love with the exercise and how it replaced his hockey training, but soon found so much more in his practice and began to take it off the mat and into his life. Taylor completed his Moksha Teacher Training in Brazil, January/February 2011, and his Moksha Flow Training in December 2011. Taylor has a growing passion for Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga, which he will foster this coming September as he is set to study under One Yoga founder and fellow lululemon Ambassador Ryan Leier. Taylor looks forward to deepening his practice, and helping others find the love in yoga that he is so grateful to have found.
He believes that everyone has the ability to move past and breakdown the boundaries that they have placed on themselves, whether it is standing on their hands or taking the first step to lay down their mat. Working with people to help them realize true potential in their practice and life is a passion he pursues.
If you can’t find Taylor cruising downtown Halifax, where he lives with his love Kyla, you’ll probably catch him ripping up the hill on his snowboard during the winter, tearing up the pavement on his longboard when the weather starts to heat up, or on the road for an epic trip with his best mates as he trots the globe.
