As a yoga teacher, Jolene has a way of challenging the physical and lighting up the spiritual in her students, helping them grow into their own greatest teacher. Common feedback from her students is "The most loving butt kicking you'll ever receive on your mat!" and her new favourite, "Your class is like church for me!"
Jolene's earthy fluidity and deep trust in the spirituality of being human offers a graceful and creative approach to sharing the practice of yoga. Her own intimate relationship with yoga came after a bout of post-partum depression following the birth of her first child. Yoga helped Jolene reconnect to her own basic goodness, embracing both the light and the dark within herself and she has been sharing this wisdom with her many students ever since.
Her exploration and love of physical movement began at an early age. Jolene loved all things athletic, and could be found mostly on the field, the ice or in the water! She still loves the immediacy of physical sensations and deeply appreciates how yoga connects body, breath and mind.
Jolene teaches Vinyasa flow, Pre/Post-Natal and Yin Yoga. She teaches private classes and has special interest in weaving yoga into the lives of young athletes and a variety of high performance sports teams. Jolene is passionate about, and often travels with her very popular YOGABirth workshop, Intensive Vinyasa Teacher Training, TAYS YTT and Yin Yoga Immersion.
Jolene is a E-RYT 500 certified, one of the directors of Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio Teacher Training program and is continuously learning from her students, co workers and mentors; Philip Urso, Stacy Dockins and Deborah Williamson at LIVE LOVE TEACH. She is also a certified Yoga Body Bootcamp basic trainer (Deborah Williamson's YBB is a combination of Biggest Loser, Amazing Race, and Survivor adrenaline mixed with the inner stillness of yoga. A combination of yoga asana and fitness bootcamp stations.) Jolene is certified as a Life Coach (NPI) and is incredibly proud to be the mother of three beautiful and inspiring children.
