I first hit the mat when I was very young with my mother but it wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I was ready to dedicate any time to yoga. My first hot class in 2002 was a life changing experience. I had spent all my time in the gym to discover that what I was looking for was on the mat. Once I finished university I began to deepen my practice studying with Danny Paradise, Elizabeth Rainey and Paul Grilley. When I finally gathered up all my courage and answered the call to teach I took off for Thailand where I could immerse myself in the path. I have been inspired by many teachers abroad: Paul Dallaghan, Tiwariji, John Friend and Shiva Rea but you don't have to be a famous yoga teacher to lead on this great path. I find I am continually nourished by local teachers and most importantly the students. I try to encourage people to get to the mat, accept what is and open up to the joy that is readily available to them; getting people to use their bodies in new ways with strength, flexibility and grace. Its not so much about what you can do, but how you feel it, opening to having a conversation with the body. I am deeply honoured to be teaching yoga and being of service to my community and the world beyond. If you are frightened, feel the fear and do it anyways, there's no telling what's waiting for you around the next bend. Namaste.

My roles or titles which may be important:
