Alyson Joy has been dancing since she was a young child. Classically trained in ballet, jazz and tap, she later forayed into modern and contemporary dance. She furthered her training at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre (STDT) where she learned to appreciate the artistic sophistication of the style and hone her talent.

After completing the STDT program, Joy began performing with a local dance company, Newton Moraes Dance Theatre. While dancing professionally was her full-time career, she also began go go dancing as clubs and events throughout the city.

As a dancer Joy understood the relationship between her mind and body and began exploring all the different ways her body could move, and most importantly explore her artistry as a real woman. Only accustomed to performing choreographed routines, Joy found new freedom in the art of freestyling. As she became more comfortable with her own movement, she continued gain this new sense of freedom because she started to let go of the idea of seeking validation from others. She realized that this style of dance was aiding her as a woman and wanted to share those realizations with other females. She saw creating the FELINITY program/workout as an opportunity to do this.

Since opening a Studio Space that facilitates the new workout series, FELINITY, Joy also began and completed the creation of the new DVD series, Felinity, Core Sensuality Series. For more information about FELINITY classes or the DVD series please check out the website: www.felinity.ca.
