My name is Julie Wright. I am so honored and excited about the opportunity to be a lululemon ambassador! This will be a great year to reach out to the community with lululemon and increase the awareness of living healthy and happy.
I have been working in the field of Health and Wellness since 1991. I first became certified in Personal Training and worked with people of all ages. I assisted in the development of a Teen Fitness program and worked with ages 12 to 16. I also worked with Active Older Adults, ages ranging from 60 to 90. Exercising with Senior Citizens is so much fun and very rewarding.
After a couple of years of training I became interested in Group Exercise. I pursued a certification in Aerobics and Step. I continued training clients but knew that teaching classes was where my talent and interest was. I soon acquired certifications in Spin Cycling, Kickboxing and Body Sculpting. I continue to teach Group Exercise classes and occasionally work with clients one on one.
I took my first yoga class in 1999 and was immediately hooked. Truthfully, I took the class for the physical benefits only. I wanted to add to my cardio and weight training routine. As I continued to practice yoga the physical benefits were amazing, I was more flexible and stronger. What really blew me away was for the first time in my life I experienced a connection between my body and mind, lead by my breath. I learned to coordinate breath with movement and to use the breath to calm my over active mind. I received the gift of being present, in the moment, breath by breath. My yoga practice has become a spiritual experience as I invite God in to my practice. What a gift! I have always been high strung, tightly wound and my mind was either worrying about the future or dwelling in the past. Yoga has taught me the beauty of right now. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not in my hands. I have tried many different styles of yoga: Hatha, Bikram, Asthanga, (all great) just to name a few. I was captured by, and teach Power Yoga, or Vinyasa Flow.
I enjoy the physical challenge of the power flow while maintaining my breath and staying in the moment.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with a 200 hour certification with Yoga Alliance. I have a 200 hour certification with American Power Yoga that is also Yoga Alliance. I continue my teacher training and education with Rod Stryker. I receive great inspiration by attending workshops with masters such as Baron Baptiste, Beryl Bender Birch, Ana Forrest, Seane Corn, Manju Jois and many more.
I love teaching and sharing my energy with my students. The incredible love that I have for my students comes back to me when I see them getting stronger, finding flexibility and balance, and mostly when I see peace in their faces knowing they are enjoying the present moment. I am so blessed to be able to share such a precious gift through teaching.
