Alexandria Sturdevant

Telos, 24 Hour Fitness, Yoga Island, YMCA

Alexandria Sturdevant began sharing the joy of yoga and pilates with others as a way to empower people through movement. Her desire to teach came after experiencing the amazing transformation that these two practices had in her life. She feels fortunate to be able to share her love for yoga and pilates and to be able to encourage others to experience their own mind and body connection and through learning what it truly means to move and feel.

Alex currently teaches vinyasa flow yoga classes and pilates mat and equipment classes at Telos Fitness Center, 24 Hour Fitness, Yoga Island, and YMCA. Alex also teaches sport-specific yoga classes to athletic teams at the University of North Texas, which cater to the needs of various types of athletes. Her teaching style is fun and eclectic, combining great energy and creative movement.

Alex is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, a Power Pilates Certified Instructor, a Certified Personal Trainer through International Sports Sciences Association, and holds certifications through Yogafit, American Fitness and Aerobics Association. You can catch Alex as a yoga participant in Joseph Stingley’s Yoga Style Fitness DVD’s. Her experience also includes 7 years of training in the areas of gymnastics and dance. Alex graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Visual Art Studies and a minor in Education.

As B.K.S. Iyengar once said, “health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit.”
