I've been training for the LA Marathon. So, when I headed out to Aspen CO for a winter vacation, I needed to keep up with my training schedule. I wore the Metal Vent Tech Short Sleeve under RUN:Freestyle Pull-Over. I was very comfortable throughout the run in these great pieces with amazing technical fabric. Though, as the sun dropped and visibility fell, I realized I was missing the most important piece of gear: a reflective vest/tape. It occurred to me that the only reflective element was probably the lululemon logo on the top of my Freestyle hood. lulu, will you incorporate more of the reflective strips on their garments?

Great tips - thanks! As a newbie runner, I didn't want to stop running because of the cold, but needed some advice. Quick question - when you say "grips or tracks on your shoes" what do you mean and where can I find those?

Thanks!

The number 1 tip should be to check the current conditions before you go!

A lot of great advice, except for the covering the extremeties part. While a hat pretty much always a must, the concept of overdressing also applies to your face/hands. There's nothing worse than wearing gloves that are too warm and ending up with cold hands during your long run. Ouch!

Great post!!! We just received our first big dump of snow here in London. I've been waiting patiently for some character building weather to run in. It is quite reasonable to still go for a run outside even when temperatures dip below -20'C. The key is those layers and the technical fabrics. Especially in winter, wearing cottons (even underwear) can actually pose a sever safety hazard. Our run club in London has been heading out together twice a week for the last month or so now and will be building up to 30k for the Around the Bay race in Hamilton. I hope to see a strong representation from lulu there this year!!!!!
