In just a few days, Wanderlust will be a lot more to me than just my favorite Bjork song. On Wednesday afternoon, a van full of our friendly lululemon neighbours to the north (most of whom I’ve never met, I’ll categorize this under “details my mom doesn’t need to know about”) will pick me up from my house in Boston, MA and drive me up to the summer’s first Wanderlust festival at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort in Vermont.
While my yoga teacher has been drilling the concept of non-attachment into my brain for the past few years, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some pretty serious expectations for an awesome time. Is it even possible for 4 days of yoga, music, meditation, mountain hikes, farm-to-table dining, and organic wine tastings not to be incredible? I didn’t think so either.
what i'm excited about
Although I’m looking forward to almost every aspect of the experience, here are a few things that I’m especially excited about (in a non-attached kind of way):
1. The morning meditation hike I signed up for with Garth Stevenson (whose album I’ve been obsessed with for months).
2. My Saturday afternoon Love, Light & Flight: AcroYoga Therapeutics class. The description reads: “In this class we’ll teach you how to base and fly Therapeutic Flying postures that will elevate your massage experience to new heights.”. Amazing.
3. Winderlust! A local wine and beer tasting after a long day of bandha work? Sign me up.
4. Taking my practice outdoors—nothing beats the warmth of the sun in savasana.
5. Allowing yoga to be my #1 priority for 4 straight days. YES.
