A couple, who sweats together, stays HEALTHY together!

I would like to introduce to you Liz and her fiancé. Liz is an educator at the GEC and recently enrolled her fiancé to attend beach yoga with her. Weather and schedule permitting, he ended up attending two more times and did a circuit training class with her. Liz then shared with me that they do try to hit the gym and go for runs together. She says they both are competitive and it adds a different aspect to their time together. Their story inspired me. Why not love working out WITH the one you love?

What he liked about his Metal Vent Tech SS:

- He was sweating hard during their Circuit Training class but he didn't feel the moisture. Why? The fabric is treated to wick sweat.

- As the class progressed, he noticed that he was still relatively cool. Good to know that the added detail of integrated mesh venting was doing it's job.

- With Rob from Endorphin Junkies putting him through squats and lunges, there were no itchy seams to distract his from his task at hand. Men: you don't know what flat seams can do for you until you try!

SWEAT ONCE A DAY!!

Why We Made This:

- Performance top with integrated mesh venting for high breathability and heat management
- Anti-stink Silverescent™ using X-Static, the silver fibre
- Seamless body construction and flat seamed for chafe resistant wearing experiences
- Preshrunk for sizing confidence
- Wicking

Look for your own Metal Vent Tech in your lululemon store or online at:

Above: Lori tests out the Run: Swiftly Tech on a not-so-quick break from the office.

The lazy days of summer are here. For many of us getting to work out under the warm sun and blue skies is all the motivation we need to lace up the shoes and hit the road for a run. My go-to top when I'm pounding the pavement is the Run: Swiftly Tech. The first and foremost reason why I like this shirt is because it's made with Silverescent (a silver fiber), making it anti-stink – a quality that is highly desirable during these hot summer months. And since I don’t always get around to doing laundry until the weekend, the top doesn’t make the rest of my laundry basket smelly.

I also like the fact that while fitted, the Run: Swiftly Tech is a little bit looser fitting. It hugs the body in all the right places, but at the same time hides what you'd rather not display to the public while exercising. The top also has short sleeves, which is a good alternative if you don't want to expose your arms. There is mesh venting where you need it most: places where you sweat, especially during the summer when you sweat a lot. So arm yourself with a Run: Swiftly Tech, then get out there and get moving!

Ahhhh, summer. Sun, surf and sand. Outdoor meetings, long hikes, and exercise sessions with the sun beating down on you, the warm breeze against your neck, and a cool post-workout treat to help you conquer the high temperatures.

But during these hot summer days, there's no better way to keep you cool than our Beat the Heat Dress. This casual dress is made out of vitasea fabric, making it so soft you'll want to wear it all day and night. In just one day out on the town, you can wear this dress to and from yoga class, out to run errands, at a classy outdoor café for brunch, and dressed up with a cardigan for a night out with friends.

Even better about the Beat the Heat Dress: its versatility. Wear it as a dress, a stylish top, or pull it down as a skirt. It's even reversible! So you're essentially getting more than six stylish looks for just one affordable price. I love wearing my Beat the Heat Dress as a skirt and pairing it with a spaghetti strap tank and flip flops for a day at the beach. But as many of you busy girls know… we can go hours without making it home to change clothes. So from day to night, the Beat the Heat Dress can be pulled up as a strapless top and paired with leggings, making it a sexy and sultry look once the sun sets.

Check it out in your local store, or in our online one: http://shop.lululemon.com/Beat_The_Heat_Dress/

Above: MelEesa, our Men's Designer, test drives some of our luxtreme items in the park near our office.

If you've ever gone shopping for athletic wear, you have likely come face to face with the words "technical fabric". Have you ever wondered what this means and how it can enhance your workouts?

The term "technical fabric" refers to high-performance fabrics created and marketed specifically for sportswear. These fabrics are designed to pull moisture from your skin during periods of heavy sweating, spreading it evenly throughout the fabric so that sweat evaporates quicker and ultimately, you dry faster after your workouts than in a cotton t-shirt.

Luxtreme is a lightweight, smooth-feeling technical fabric that we use in our run line. Luxtreme is what we call an "inherently wicking" fabric, which means that the wicking property is part of the yarn itself and that your shirt will be wicking away your sweat for the life of the garment. Bottom line is that you will be calm, cool and collected before, during and after your workout.

I converted to wearing technical fabrics for all of my active living about a decade ago. So when I was given the task of test-running one of our luxtreme tops for work I decided to pass it on to my colleague Jacquie, who has always worn cotton t-shirts and tanks for her daily run. On a typical day she runs for about 40 minutes -- long enough to build up a good sweat!

If you have worn or worked out in any lululemon garments using Luxtreme I would love to hear your feedback below!

I look forward to sharing more information with you on our various fabrics and how they can make your workouts more fun. In the meantime, if you want a quick read on Luxtreme and our other technical fabrics check out the link below:

I often sulked at the idea of having to springerize/summerize my wardrobe; to put all my winter clothes aside and bring my spring/summer clothes to the forefront. So when the Game Day Jacket came in, I was more than thrilled. It's a cotton/lycra blend, so it's not only a good layering piece in the winter, it's functional enough to wear as a spring/summer/fall jacket.

Who doesn't love a jacket that can take them through the ENTIRE year!?

Modeled after a motorcycle jacket, it's got all the attitude of James Dean with all the comfort of your favourite lululemon hoodie!
Confused about the Athletic Deep V? Lara gives us tips about how to rock it.

Sassy, sexy, and exceeding all expectations for athletic functionality, if you're a 'curvalicious' woman, the Athletic Deep V is the perfect active living tank for YOU.

Here is why:
• Strong support for bustier women with thick shoulder straps and side panels
• The "v" cut cleavage ensures that your girls don't fall prey to an unflattering "uni-boob"
• A-line body doesn’t ride up during vigorous activity and looks great when filled out by a curvier frame. This is a great option for women post and during pregnancy as well as a forgiving fit during the weeks after holiday seasons!
• Mesh back panel ensures that your skin can breathe during tough workouts, keeping you cool

When determining your size, note that the Athletic Deep V is a tank with more compression on the bust so it may feel tighter than what you are used to. This tightness is necessary for proper support so use the comfort there as a guide. The straps should not be cutting in to your shoulders or back and you should feel supported but still be able to breathe. Remember that this is a tank that you are going to be active in – try swinging your arms and jumping around a bit to test it out.

If you have trouble fitting this tank, perhaps try a different style. Each lululemon tank is built to address a different function and/or body type. While resident Robson St. bombshell and keyleader Winnie rocks this tank in her cardio-pole dancing classes, as a non-curvy lady with large shoulders and a smaller bust, I find that the Athletic Deep V doesn't work on my frame. Fear not! I will be focusing on women like me in posts to come!
