What brought you to lululemon?

I was inspired by the opportunity to do business differently and to grow a worldwide brand while still keeping the integrity of a small specialty store.

What do you like best about working at lululemon? What do you like best about your role?

The challenge of reinventing yourself or your role every day.

What skills / qualities have made you successful in your role?

As I spent my previous career as a coach, my ability to identify talent and build great teams. The greatest satisfaction I receive is in watching my team develop and achieve their goals and move on to the next challenge in their lives.

What is your lululemon legend?

My legend will be found in those I have touched. I am a peer mentor and leader and I am a source of knowledge. I help develop all those I touch in some way as an individual both personally and professionally.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be in your role in the future?

To always understand your role and how to add value in whatever you do.

Over the course of any given day, we wear a lot of hats. I am a product expert, a solution seeker, a community guru, and an order specialist. I can tell you what the name of that favourite shirt is. (You know the one from Fall 2006? Yeah. I loved it too.) I'll listen to your concerns and ideas, and make sure they get heard by the team at our Store Support Centre. You want to apply for our Strategic Sales program? Sure! Check out our website. Team Sales? No problem! Right this way. There are days when I feel like Tamara Taggart’s stand-in, sharing Vancouver’s weather with our friends around the world. (And in case you're wondering, it is 21 degrees Celsius and partly cloudy.) If you're planning a trip to Vancouver, I’ll tell you my favourite place to put in 10K and who teaches a mean hot yoga class. I can help you find exactly what you need to help you sweat once a day and like it.

It's a happy place to work. The room dazzles the eyes with bright colours, much like your favourite local store, and our goals bring the walls to life. The aforementioned piñata was a fundamental part of today's fiesta, as we said goodbye to one of our favorite educators, Gab. We have pancake parties and potlucks to celebrate each others successes and achievements - we even helped our Ta Ta Tamer, Melissa Content, on her fundraising journey for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.

The greatest part of my job is connecting with different athletes in my community. With a range of gym-goers, yogis, runners and sports fanatics, a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm is waiting to be discovered.

Many active people decide to take their passion for fitness and sport to the next level by making it their profession. Personal trainers, fitness class leaders and yoga instructors are just a few that come to mind. Besides being an expert in their chosen industry, these individuals are keen in finding the perfect garment to play hard and sweat hard in.

As a community leader, I love listening to what instructors in my store as well as at the studios have to say:

"I wish you carried those crops all year around – they're great for outdoor and indoor training with my clients."

"This pocket would be better for running if it was lower on the jacket."

"I love the higher neck on this top when I teach spin! Does it come in more colours?"

We know it's not always a lovefest with our garments. We also know that we can’t get better without our athletes' positive and constructive feedback. Our research and development team members help us everyday in creating components for people to live a longer, healthier and more fun life.

Besides helping bring design feedback to life, our R&D team partnerships allow for instructors to broaden their health and fitness community through in store classes and demonstrations.

You might see them teaching at your nearest lululemon's Sunday morning yoga class. You might see them sweating hard while they lead you into the 59th minute of your hardcore spin class.
