He's been one of our ambassadors since the dawn of the Groove Pant. It's impossible to be in a bad mood around him. If you haven't experienced Eoin Finn, either in person or on DVD, you have a good thing coming. Read on.

Eoin (pronounced "Ian") Finn is not a yoga instructor - not entirely, at least. He's a self-proclaimed Blissologist, yogi and surfer. He recently toured North America in support of his latest endeavor: the Blissology Project, a DVD series challenging folks to cultivate bliss for four weeks through daily yoga, meditation, nature appreciation, food awareness and gratitude. He's home now, so we decided to celebrate in true lululemon style: midday yoga at the office and good food. We caught up after class to talk bliss.

Define Blissology.
It's the art of slowing down, getting off of auto-pilot and observing the path you're on in life.

The Blissology Project in five words. Go.
Creating an Upward Spiral by making Bliss a Habit! (Editor's note: Yes, he gave us eight, but who's counting, right? What's an Upward Spiral? Eoin explains below.)

What's involved in committing to the Project?
Very little, really. My focus in creating the Blissology Project this way was to demonstrate how we don't have to take a lot of time to create change and transformation in our busy lives.

It's meant to be under an hour a day. The goal is to engage in all five of the Blissology Commitments each day. The DVDs and supplementary booklet make it easy. Spend 30 minutes doing yoga (or the 50-minute routine if you can). Next, spend ten minutes meditating, one minute on nature appreciation and gratitude each and one minute of food awareness at each meal. It's surprisingly simple to do.

How did you come up with the idea for the project?
I analyzed the lives of happy people around the world and realized most of them had small but powerful daily habits. I figured if people could commit to these habits for four weeks, the level of bliss we could tune into would be profound. The real trick with designing the four-week challenge was to encourage these habits by keeping it simple.

You obviously had amazing experiences on tour. What was one outstanding highlight?
In general the highlight was sharing all the Blissology Commitments in each yoga space with people every morning across North America. It was amazing to see how people really lit up.

One comment in particular that stands out was in Toronto when we were talking about gratitude. One woman said, "I am grateful for a second chance at life." It made us all consider how precious life is and the importance of committing to health and a positive attitude.

We're all about being teachers and students. Through teaching, did you learn something unexpected that really moved you?
I learned the power of daily commitments to change behaviour. I often found myself looking around at small miracles in the world and feeling so blessed, when typically before I would have been irritable in the same situations.

For example, I had to teach a class way out in East L.A. and got slammed in bumper to bumper traffic. In the midst of the gridlock, I saw the full moon coming out above the pink snowcapped mountains at sunset. I caught myself thinking, "Now that is a nature appreciation moment! Thank God I am going so slowly so I can take in this beauty." This is what I call the Upward Spiral!

Admittedly, four weeks is a bit daunting at first. If we can't commit to the Commitments, what is the one thing we can focus on to become blissful in baby steps?
Gratitude. It is so easy and it has such far reaching effects. Simply stopping and acknowledging three things you feel grateful for almost instantly brings you that inner sense of vibrancy we need to create an upward spiral.

Meet Andrea, Elizabeth and our new lululemon love van! They had the great opportunity to bring the love van to its new home in California. Get ready to see the van pop up near you!

Andrea and Elizabeth doing dancer's pose.

Proudly driven down from Portland to San Francisco by Andrea Hehr and Elizabeth Brotz, we present the lululemon love van! “It was a reminder of what I'm here to do. The company that we work for continuously amazes me and it was a sweet journey with a dear friend. We covered every discussion under the sun,” said Andrea.

Speaking of sun, you can do sun salutations on the roof of this van with its unique yoga platform.

Other awesome features
- Bio-diesel eco-friendly design
- Microwave
- Sink and fridge
- 40" plasma
- Wi-fi
- Killer sound system

Our sweet wheels are ready to hit up all the yoga classes!

Welcome to the inside of our lululemon van!

Our lovely manifesto.

Wrapped in our manifesto, this van brought upon sudden awe and dropped jaws from onlookers and drivers along the freeway. “You could see the wheels start to spin…them asking themselves…when was the last time I did one thing a day that scared me?” Andrea.

After working for lululemon, we become immune to the boldness of our manifesto because it really becomes part of our everyday life.

Northern California should watch for us as we explore the region in our lululemon love bus - we'll be hitting up all the coolest events and riding in style. Get ready to be inspired.

Climb on up and join us for a sun salutation soon!

Autumn: my favourite season of the year. The combination of falling leaves, crisp weather, and sweatshirts brings warmth to my heart. Another reason I like autumn? Global Mala. This is an event that marks this seasonal transition, appropriately taking place on the weekend of the Fall Equinox. In the international yoga community, Global Mala is an important movement that has inspired many to create positive change.

My first Global Mala experience was in September 2007. I had been practicing yoga for just under a year and a friend invited me to a nearby studio to do 108 sun salutations in celebration of peace. One hundred and eight! I had just learned to do one sun salutation without breaking a sweat!

With each other’s support, we grabbed our mats and packed ourselves into the beautiful studio for two hours, one sun salutation after another. The energy in the room was incredible. Just under 60 people in a room meant for 40, we were moving and breathing in harmony with each other. Our four fearless yogi leaders brought their own special piece of inspiration to our practice that day, sharing what gave them peace in their lives and how we could share peace with those around us. As we finished, the final leader explained the significance of this yoga ritual.

Based around sacred tradition, a popular form of Mala is through 108 sun salutations, also known as the dynamic asana sequence Surya Namaskar. The importance of saluting the sun is to pay respects to its power in the universe as a source of energy and life. The number 108 is significant in many cultures including the number of beads in the mala (meditation prayer beads), as well as the diameter of the sun being 108 times the diameter of the earth! In deeper understanding of yoga, we learn that chakras are intersections of energy lines – there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. There are even 108 holy temples of Vishnu! With my limited experience in yoga at that point in time, the history learned that day inspired me to continue participating in this movement.

The simple vision of Global Mala is to collectively cause a positive shift in global consciousness through bringing more peace in the world. Through several yoga practices around the world, thousands of people will participate in their local Global Mala on Sunday, September 20, 2009 of this year. Interested in taking part? Visit www.globalmala.org to see what is taking place in your city!
