savasana wrap: a blankie for grown ups?

Keeping snug on the roof!

Above: Abbey is wearing the Savasana Wrap in the colour combination Ivory / Vancouver.

When I was a little girl rarely was I seen without my “blankie” in tow. Not only was it a soft and cuddly security blanket that kept the boogie man away at night, but it was a multipurpose piece of gear in my day-to-day life as a toddler! I wrapped myself in it to stay warm when sneaking downstairs to watch Saturday morning cartoons; threw it over my head as a ghost costume to scare the family cat; and even used it as the tablecloth for fantasy tea parties with my large cast of dolls.

The Savasana Wrap is like a grown up version of my “blankie”. While I haven’t played ghost in almost thirty years, it is the perfect flexible wardrobe staple to make me feel warm and snuggly all over before or after a workout; an easy and casual sweater to toss over jeans or shorts; and, by its very name is THE thing to put on during meditation at the end of yoga class. This is also an ideal transitional maternity garment as the a-line drape of the body allows for a lot of growth.

To ensure that it doesn’t look frumpy, the shoulders and arms should be fitted – I had to go down a size. The snaps can be done up however you want – try a cowl neck for day and a more cape-like look for night!

The Savasana Wrap: three different snaps = three different styles

This wrap is the perfect travel companion!!
I took a bus ride to Seattle from Whistler at 5:30 am and need some serious sleep before meeting up with my boyfriend. It was the perfect pillow that folded up so nicely into a square and then when i got cold it was such a nice blankie!
Once off the bus, give it a quick flick out and do it up as a high collar, done the sunnies and bam i have a smoking “breakfast at tiffany’s” inspired look

I have a girlfriend who was wearing the Savasana Wrap as a jacket while over in Italy this past spring and when she told me it was from Lululemon, I raced home to try and find one in brown or ivory and have had no luck. If the Lululemon product team is reading this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring it back as an instock for the long term item.

If you are a Lululemon shopper and reading this, please spread the word and maybe, through the power of numbers inspire a re-release! :)

Cheers.

Hi Katie!
We just brought out the Savasana Wraps in black, coal and ivory. Your local stores should have them or you can call us at the Guest Education Centre: 1.877.263.9300 option #2

Why can’t I purchase the savasana wrap on the website. I don’t live near a lululemon retail store!

Comment by Abby — March 23, 2011 @ 5:34 pm

Hey Abby,

We are currently sold out of the Savasana Wrap on the Canadian side of the website, and have limited sizes available in black on the US side. If the size and colour you’re looking for aren’t available and you’re not near a store, you may have a strategic sales dealer near you that carry the wrap. Feel free to take a look here: http://www.lululemon.com/dealers.

Can we expect the Savasana Wrap to make a return in the near future? I missed the boat online and my local retailers are out of stock as well … Really hope we’ll be seeing this one again soon!

Hey Soniya,
Thanks so much for your question! So great to hear you love the Savasana Wrap style. I would say it is fairly likely we will see this wrap or something similar again. Our thicker wraps like this are seasonal, so will come in and out of season throughout the year. Our designers do like to change up the styles from time to time, so it’s possible we will see something different as well. Thanks for posting your comment, and I’ll let our design team know you would love to see the Savasana Wrap again soon.

Hi,

I was just wondering how the sizing on this is? I only have one other Lululemon product (the Run Speed Shorts in a 4) and I am usually a size 2, XS/S in tops and didn’t know if this runs big or small or TTS. I would go to a store if I could, but that isn’t really an option at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Hey Grace,

I would recommend staying true to size in the Savasana Wrap. If you’re in between sizes, I would go with the smaller size, but if you size down from your regular size, you may find the arms a little too tight. Hope that helps!

I am glad you wrote this piece. This is the kind of details that needs to be given and not the random misinformation that is at the other blogs. I appreciate your sharing this, keep up the good work..

Please bring back the savasana wrap. Tried on the gratitude wrap today and draw string on the bottom hem just turns me into an upside down sack of potatoes. I’ll be back in Australia after christmas and was really looking forward to getting this wrap before i went back. :(

I would love the return of the Savasana wrap – I’ve been keeping my eye out with no luck!

Hi! Just another voice in the crowd asking, pleading, for you to bring this back! I have the gratitude wrap and while I love it I don’t think it’s as comfy as this one, and I even found a similar looking wrap from a different brand but as its not lulu it’s just not the same!

Hi,

We don’t know what our design team has in store for us but I’ll let them know you’d love to see the Savasana Wrap make a come back!

lululemon shoud definitely bring back the savasana wrap. it is probably one of the most functional pieces they have marketed in a while. however, please consider changing the material where the thumbs go into the hole – it is itchy!

Please please bring this back!!

It is just me, another voice both shouting and quietly whispering “please bring back the savansa wrap”! Pretty please!

Just me with one more comment (suggestion?). Maybe this wrap in a stripe. It would be awesome in a stripe!
