what to expect

what’s in the boxes?
The CE Centre has been outfitted with an abundance of luon. There’s stuff for men, women and the girls in your life who live to dance and twirl.

good things come to those who wait
Yes, there will be lines but this ain’t our first Ottawa winter. We’ve done our best to ensure that Mother Nature won’t come between you and your luon. Line-ups will be housed inside the venue with endless distractions like music, demos and competitions.

check, please!
Before hopping in the line, you’ll meet our bag-check team. It is mandatory to check all coats and bags – think, two hands to shop with. All your essentials will go into an individual clear plastic bag. An outfit with a pocket (or two) will be your best warehouse sale companion. Just enough room for your crucial belongs (e.g. cell phone, cash or cards, I.D.) and totally hands free.

*giftcards will not be accepted at the warehouse sale

navigating the sea of luon
All products will be organized by size with sections for men, women and ivivva. There will be layouts and maps around so no one gets lost as well as plenty of educators to answer any questions that may come up.

try it on for size
There will be separate communal change rooms for both men and women. Wear easy slip-off clothes if you’re planning to try things on for size.

What kind of deals are there? Never been and want to know if its worth the drive from Toronto area. What are the deals like? 50% or more or less? Are regular items there, like groove pants? As much as I love me some lulu, I went to the previous warehouse in Ottawa and didn’t manage to find much of anything great. It was like the “sales” rack at the store but multiplied by a lot. Also waited outside in the frigid weather for 3 hours. REALLY hoping this year is much better.
Oh and note to others, regular items such as the scuba sweaters and groove pants aren’t at the warehouse events.

Thanks for all of your questions! So far, the Ottawa and Chicago warehouse sales are the only 2 that have been announced for this year.

@Sophie – The registers that will be at the warehouse sale don’t have the capability to process giftcards like we would in store.

I just wanted to leave a comment to help ppl figure out what will be at the sale. I went to the sale in Hamilton two yrs ago. The line moves quickly and the clothes were pretty good. Yes there was some ugly old sale stuff but there were also some gems. I bought some pants, crops, a jacket, and some organic cotton stretch tanks. I didn’t see many accessories last time because apparently they were sold out (I went on the Sunday). There were great things like groove pants and such. Prices are hit and miss but it’s a fun opportunity to score some luon cheaply.

@Jane – The Warehouse Sale begins at 9 am. But the doors for the CE Centre will open at 7 am for the indoor line – to keep us all warm and happy. No one likes waiting outdoors in Ottawa snow.

From what I remember from being at the sale in Kelowna in 2008, items were priced according to a coloured sticker. i.e. Red sticker, $40, Green sticker $30, Yellow sticker $20. But I can’t remember exactly. It would be helpful to know this in advance though! Maybe someone from Lulu can clarify?

I was lucky to live in Kelowna during that sale. And I got lucky again by living in Ottawa now :)

Glad you added the infor about taking away coats and purses/bags as I would have simply walked away upset. Would not be leaving my purse and its contents and trust that someone else would guard against theft. Clearly not the sale for me!

The line up is really bad. My daughter was so disappointed but the wait was expected to be 5 to 6 hours just to get in. The line up on the Uplands road was raelly bad to. We waited at least 1/2 hour just to get to the lights that brought you into the centre. I was also told that only 100 people at a time were being let in.

Guys! This thing was a huge disapointment! Line-ups were about 4-6 hours to get in and an hour to shop! Getting up to 50% off is not considering the baseline prices for lulu stuff…On top of all that parking was $7! Boo!

The lines were terrible!! After 5 hours I got through the doors. Once in the selection was ok but not outstanding unless you are a size 4. There was then another 2 hour line up for cash. Don’t bother!

Pants 55$, kids pants as low as 9$. Sweatshirts 79$, leather bags 40$
In and out, total of 7 hrs. Sadly they told us 3. If you have cash it’s a further 10% off. No cell reception, line up to pay another hour and a half.
Got some great stuff, however will NEVER go again.
The staff tell you what you want to hear, but not the truth.

Not worth the wait. Took 3 hours to get in yesterday, took 2 hours to pay at the cash, and it’s only 30-50% off. Not to mention it costs $7.00 to park!! It would have been nice to advertise that if we paid in cash we would get an extra 10% off. Would not recommend this sale, unless you have alot of extra time to waste.

Went on saturday afternoon, wait was short but stock was disappointing. No groove pants, no tanks, no bras under size 8. Since I read the blog, I knew the coat check was mandatory, but there was no indication outside of the hall that there was a coat check inside of the sale, so my Mom and I paid for coat check, and then saw the free one on the inside… Will not attend again.

I was there this morning…wait was not too bad…it was about an hour. And the savings were more than 50% of the regular price for everything I purchased. I am size 6 and I found everything I was looking for in my size.

Went to the Ottawa sale Sunday a.m., Got the last 2 size 10 scuba hoodies faux fur for 39.00 reg 168. That was great! Walked away with rainpants for 39.00 reg 98. and the yoga cover for 4. reg 36 pretty happy. Would do it again! Thank you! Waited in line 1 hour at front and at cash. I went in with 150. cash and left with 4 in change. Had fun! All in all.

hi I went to the warehouse sale in Ottawa on friday and went again on sunday. And i live 2 hours away. It was well worth going but better on friday, as the sizes, colours, & choices were amazing. I only wish i had a grogery cart to put all my loot in. Especially since after waiting since 7:15am & getting in at 11:20am then waiting amost 2hours in line to pay. My arms were dead. Sunday’s prices went too “everything under $39″ but only sizes 2,4,6 & only grey and some black. All in all i can’t wait til the next sale…

Thanks for your question! As our warehouse sales are pretty special events for us, we tend to only have the once a year. They also will change location and timing from year to year.

At the moment, we don’t have any updates on when or where the next warehouse sales will be. However, once we do have confirmation, we will be sure to post about it like we did for this year’s events so all of our guests hear the news.
