I just bought my second pair of Brooks Glycerin. They fit me so well and they just launch me forward. Feels like running on air.

I am an Asics girl all the way- whenever I need a new pair of running shoes, the question is never "which brand?" but rather, "which color Asics?" I need them for the support and could never wear a minimalist shoe. From years of pounding the pavement and playing soccer, I have weak knees and ankles. Although they are heavier, I really need the support.

For Kristen. The 2100 series of Asics has not been discontinued. They just re-named it to GT2000. The shoe will always be called the GT2000 now and just be "version #1, Version #2 etc". To Susan about minimalist shoes for pronators.....I pronate a moderate amount and have had good success (no injuries) using the Brooks Pure Flow and Cadence. Still good cushion for longer runs but only 4 mm of drop. Try those out.

I am an Asics girl. I love the wide toe box and cushiony feel they offer. I am a flat-footed girl, so I need a little more support. I adore the 2100 series (which have been discontinued), and I am a fan of the DS trainers. Both offer enough support and responsiveness for all my endurance training.

I was really surprised not to see an inov-8 on anyone's foot. Best brand out there, hard to the core, and, many of your floor associates wear them for CrossFit. In fact, your Natick, MA store has a massive pic of a dude at CFNE wearing the F-Lite 195. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there in case you're not aware of the brand...much like Lulu was/still is, they're as genuine and authentic to athletics as they come. No toning shoes, no wait staff shoes, just pure performance. (I swear I don't work for these guys, just love their shoes)

I agree with Jenn... Altras are the best running shoe for me, and I've tried sooo many running shoes. They are THE shoe for the endurance runner. Check them out... we love them up here in the mountains.

I love Nike free run, been running in them for 8 monthes. But just got a pair of fly knit lunar, they are more structured. Have to agree with Laura that free run is good for short miles, I usually just run 5k

Minimalist shoes! I ran my last half marathon in the Vibram FiveFingers SeeYa. I'm using both the Merrell Dash Glove and Inov-8 Bare-X Lite 135 in my training for my next half, which is in March (not sure which of the two I will wear on race day yet). It took a while to retrain myself from a heel strike to a midfoot strike but it was worth it.

Asics Gel Nimbus is my mainstay. The wide toe box, coupled with its über cushioned makes it my long-term beau. My latest pair is a cheeky, hot pink. However, I do favor my inky black Nike Frees for 5Ks, and any under-five-milers. My size ten feet enjoy both.

Nikes have always been the best for me, especially the Vormero series. im a pretty stockily built guy so having the extra cushion is quite nice. but like any sport i find have a specific shoe for a purpose helps. for me on Longer outdoor runs, Nike Vomeros 4s or 7s, or Asics Nimbus 14s. Treadmill or cardio machines Nike Free Run 2s. leg training days machine based work and/plyometrics Nike Free trainers or Nike Huaraches (lateral support). Squat and Deadlift focus Vibram Seeya's

I'm an Altra Zero Drop gal, all the way!! I love the lightweight, zero drop and wider toe box of the Provisioness model. They feel so comfortable on my feet and encourage forefoot striking. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm in love with my shoes!
