One of the many unique aspects that makes lululemon stand out from other sportswear companies is our incredible focus on fit. This focus is not just for aesthetic reasons but to allow for ultimate functionality during athletic pursuits.
lululemon offers complimentary hemming in our stores to ensure that our guests are buying a product to fit their bodies. We not only hem pant lengths, but also shirt length and sleeves as well.
How does complimentary hemming work? First, select your garment. After putting your garment on, a lululemon educator will pin the item to your exact proportions. If you come into the store without sneakers, you can borrow a pair for your fitting, so the educator can determine the exact length that your pants should be for working out.
After your fitting, lululemon will send your garment to our hemmer, who has special sewing machines provided by lululemon, which maintain the flat seaming, an imperative feature in lululemon clothes, which will prevent chafing during your workout. It will take 5-7 days for your pants to be altered, but when you get them back, there will be no evidence of an alteration, except for a perfect fit.
When the hemmer returns your garment to the store, just return to the store to pick up your item, and wear it to your next workout!

Thanks for this post! I recall being told by a store associate that pants hemming could be done at any time, not just at time of purchase. I am wearing my brand new Groove pants now that I am pregnant, but once I give birth, I believe I’ll need hemming since the pant will sit differently on my waist. Is it true that I can bring them in in a few months for hemming at that time?

I bought a couple of pants a while ago and had them hemmed by my aunt (I don’t live in Calgary or Edmonton and I was told at that time that they won’t courier my merchandise). Am I still able to bring my pants to a lululemon store in Calgary to get it hemmed? My sister lives there now so she can pick it up for me.

It’s true Gin – you can bring them back for hemming for the entire life of the garment! Cheers.

Hey Gin and Bryan,
You are both in luck! You can bring your lululemon pants in any time after they’ve been purchased and we will hem them for you for no charge at all.

PS – Congratulations Gin!

But, just so you know they do charge for re-hemming – so, if you had them hemmed once you will be charged for the second hem. I think the comment about bringing them back for hemming for the entire life of the garment is a bit misleading.

Hi Sylvia,
We don’t charge guests for hemming their items more than once – it’s always complimentary for (hemmable) lululemon items whether they’ve been previously hemmed or not.
However stores will charge shipping for sending hemmed items to guests who live out of town, perhaps this is what you’re thinking of?
If not, please contact us here at the GEC (l.877.263.9300 or gec@lululemon.com) because I’d love to get some more information about your experience
