I love the Run: Speed Short for many reasons. The wide waistband is made of soft and moisture-wicking Luxtreme (no muffin top here thankyouverymuch) and the seams are flat to reduce chafing. There's a little zippered pocket on the back of the waistband for a key and cards so you can grab mimosas coffee after your run. The 2 1/2" inseam is an ideal length for both quick training runs and on the day of your half marathon. I also like to wear these bad boys during summer at the beach - they are perfect to throw on over your bikini bottoms after a long day on the sand.

Being comfortable on the mat is a must. Each person has their own personal preference about what feels good and there are many different types of practices these days all requiring various levels of coverage and performance. We have a ton of tanks for every taste, practice and body...and because we know there is a lot to choose from, we've done a little comparison to help you find the best yoga top.

why we love it: The body is made in lightweight Sheer Jersey - this top is perfect for Moksha or Bikram classes, or if you prefer a body-skimming fit as opposed to a tighter-fitting silhouette. The bra portion is made of luon so it has support and four-way stretch.

level of support and coverage: The front has medium coverage and the tank is a longer fit, with cutouts below the bra at the back for ventilation. The bra is low-support.

What is your favourite tank to wear during class? 

Spring has arrived with a bang and we are pumped to get out on the roads and trails this weekend. We put these pieces together because layering is key during unpredictable spring months (also, we are loving this season's colour-blocking trend!)

Run: Warm Up Crew

When Spring hits it's all about having easy layers so that adjusting between temperatures is a breeze. The Run: Warm Up Crew is loose fitting to make pulling it on and off a sweaty body a cinch and the Power Luxtreme material is both cozy and moisture wicking. We added an extra-long zipper at the back to make taking it on and off super simple.

Run: Pace Tank 

We love this tank because it works for a variety of activities. The straps are supportive enough for long training runs, CrossFit and spinning classes and the flat seams mean you won't chafe during an intense Power Vinyasa session. We made this in Power Luxtreme so it has four-way stretch and wicks moisture away from the body.

Run: Proceed With Speed Crops

When temperatures fluctuate, it's easy to sweat and then get a little chilly...and that's when dreaded chafing becomes an issue. We made these pants with our Nakedseam technology so uncomfortable friction is a thing of the past. We made them in Power Luxtreme so they wick moisture and have four-way stretch, yet won't bag out in the waist or knees.

	Is there a specific hot yoga class you are really into right now?
	I like hot at yyoga. I also recently went to my first Moksha class in East Vancouver and I loved it. I found the flow energizing but also very restful and rejuvenating.
	What makes designing gear for hot yoga challenging? Is there a specific problem you were trying to solve with these designs?
	The balance of coverage and breathability can be challenging. When we were designing the Heat It Up gear we focused on making easy to move in, easy to sweat in and easy to peel off after class.
	What makes Power Luxtreme and luon light fabrics so great for hot yoga?
	Both of these fabrics are moisture-wicking and breathable. Power Luxtreme also feels cool to the touch, which in a bonus in 105˚F heat.
	Did you have a chance to try out any of the Heat It Up gear during the design process?
	Yes! I wore the shorts to hot yoga a bunch of times. They are awesome for the yogi who's looking to feel free and wants to wear next to nothing in hot class.
	Do you have any favourite features?
	I love having a no-dig waistband and a drawcord in both the Heat It Up shorts and the crops so I don't have to worry about them staying in place. I also love having a front closure on the bra because it makes it easy to get it off after class.

size matters

Here at lululemon, we are constantly striving to offer you great gear to sweat in that is easy to shop for. We recently took a close look at our sizing and found a little refining was in order for our small and XXL sizes. As a result, we have updated the fit of our shirts, pants, hoodies, jackets and shorts in sizes small and XXL and we want you to know.

What does this mean for you? If you are used to wearing our men’s size small, our “new” small fits a little closer to the body. If you are an XXL, you’ll notice a little bit more room. If you are a medium, large or XL, you should’ve stopped reading this already won’t experience any changes.

how-to guide: washing and caring for your lululemon gear

When it comes to our laundry situation, we like to think we’ve got it down to an art. Unlike some clothing that can be worn more than once (we’re looking at you, favourite jeans) when we’re sweating once a day we tend to do laundry more than once a week, too. Because we make technical gear for a variety of sweaty pursuits, we recommend washing our product with care to ensure it keeps its shape and quality for years to come. We have a page filled with all the nitty gritty details and FAQs if you are looking for more info. We also put together these tips for quick reference. Without further ado, may we present to you:

eight commandments for caring for your lululemon gear

1. wash like with like.             

Zippers and denim can abrade your lululemon gear.

2. wash luon and cotton separately.

Because of their different properties, cotton fibres can attach to luon and look like pilling.

3. inside out is the right way out.

Wash your lululemon gear inside out to keep the face fabric snag-free – this really works to help extend the life of your product.

4. take care of your brights.

Wash bright colours alone before you wear them to keep them their best and brightest.

5. wash bright colours together.    

Keep all your bright-coloured luon in the same load to prevent colour transfer.

6. keep wet luon away from light colours.

If you’ve got sweaty luon in bright colours, keep it separate to avoid possible colour transfer.

7. check the fine print.

Wash cold, tumble dry as per the care and content label. If there are special instructions for the wash and care of a product, we recommend following them to ensure the quality and care of your clothing (we don’t throw those instructions in just to create extra work, Guide’s Honour).

8. pro-tip for environmentalists.

Do you love the environment as much as your Wunder Unders? You have the option to cold water wash and air dry your gear if you wish to give the Earth a little love.

Practicing yoga in 105˚F heat can get really, really sticky. We engineered The Towel Mat with that kind of sweaty intensity in mind. We get it. Sometimes going ‘au natural’ is just the right choice. We designed The Pure Mat with two layers of natural rubber and a grippy textured surface making it Bakasana and Savasana ready. The closed cell construction means sweat won’t absorb into the mat so it’s easy to clean and easy to share. Our good friend Alexis would like to share the magic that is complimentary hemming.

Right off the bat, I have a confession to make. At 5’10”, I rarely need to get my pants hemmed. I actually suffer from a different problem called “my-pants-are-usually-too-freaking-short”, meaning I spend most of the year in a mini-skirt (*please note this is a lie).  However, I do have some pals less Amazonian than myself and I have heard how difficult it can be for more petite ladies to get the right pant length.

We make both regular length and tall length in some of our core pant styles (and yes, tall length is ACTUALLY long. As in 35” inseams).  We also offer complimentary hemming on our pants.

That’s right, let me say it again (it just feels so good): we offer complimentary hemming on our pants.

so, what do you need to know about complimentary hemming?

1. where do I go to get my pants hemmed?
Remember that episode of Friends where Chandler goes to Joey’s tailor and weirdness ensues? This is a lot more straightforward (and less creepy) than that. Go into any of our stores and ask an educator to pin up the hem to your liking. Try and bring the shoes you plan on wearing with your pants so that you can get a perfect fit. Once you drop off your pants, they should be ready for pickup within approximately five business days.

2. how can I get the perfect fit?
The educators in the store are fit experts so don't be afraid to ask for their input. While we do complimentary hemming, we do not offer complimentary alterations…so make sure things are looking good in the waist, hips and thighs. Please also note that certain items with detailing at the hem (like drawcords) can be hemmed but the drawcord detail will not be “re-done” – it will be finished with a standard hem. There is the odd item, like something with a zippered ankle, that cannot be hemmed. For more info on which garments are specifically available for hemming, please contact our Guest Education Centre.

3. I bought my pants online and they are too long. what can I do?
If you bought your pants online, no worries – just head to any of our stores to get them hemmed. Looking for the closest store to your home? Check out our store finder to see what’s in your hood.

4. are my tops invited to the party?
You know it! If you have a top that is too long in the body or sleeves, go to your closest store and chat with an educator to see if your garment fits the bill for complimentary hemming.

5. what else do I need to know?
Are your pants a couple years old but you’ve suddenly shrunk three inches? No problem – we can hem pants at any time and a receipt isn’t necessary. The only thing we do ask is that you bring your pants freshly washed.
